2011-2012 Academy Bullets Swim Team Fall/Winter Short Course Registration
The Academy Bullets are excited about the upcoming 2011-2012 Short Course swim season. Below are a number of items posted for all current and prospective future members of the Bullets. Please be sure to ready through all the information carefully. Information is listed as follows:

Returning Swimmers:
**Updated 8/7** - The information below is for the 2011-2012 fall/winter season. This is only for swimmers who competed on the Bullets this past summer season. Registration for returning families will open on August 14th. Any changes to this will be emailed out to Bullets families ASAP.
If you swam this past spring/summer season, this section is for you. You will need to click on the "Online Registration" button on the left side of our page. The online registration is a step by step process and if you have any issues we would be more than happy to walk you through it. Be sure you sign up for the correct group and location. Swimmers must be registered before they can begin practicing with the club.
Registration for returning swimmers will begin on August 14th. Swimmers who register within the first 10 days will receive a $25 discount on their fees. Returning Bullets who are not registered prior to August 30th will not have their spot on the team guaranteed, as we will begin taking tryout swimmers on that date. We have also changed our fee and payment information once again this season, making minor adjustments based on the feedback from our Bullets families. Please view our new fee structure and monthly payment plan posted below for all these details and more.
A copy of the tentative practice schedule for both Lewis and Aurora can also be found below. The group placement sheet for swimmers changing groups from the previous season will be posted shortly.

September 6: Gold & Senior Teams Begin Practice (Marmion, Vaughan, & Lewis)
September 6-10: Stroke Clinic at Vaughan Center
September 12: Silver II, Silver I, & Bronze Teams Begin Practice (Marmion, Vaughan, Lewis)
Stroke Clinic Info For All Interested: **NEW - 7/21** Information on our Stroke Clinic and new Stroke Clinic Plus programs can be found on the Stroke Clinic page of the web site. Academy Bullets stroke clinics are open to anyone wishing to attend - not just current Bullets. Please read through all the information carefully and feel free to email Coach Kelly if you have any questions.
New Swimmers Tryout Information: **NEW - 9/2**
The first thing all families should do is be sure to check out our General Team Information page for all team details and family commitments. If you have questions regarding any of this information, please feel free to email Coach Todd Capen. We will also have a parent meeting at each of our tryouts to answer any questions and give a brief program overview.

Academy Bullets in Aurora - We will be holding tryouts for new swimmers on August 30th and 31st at Marmion Academy. Tryouts will be from 6:00-6:30 PM for all swimmers 10&Under. Tryouts from swimmers 11&Over will be from 6:30-7:00 PM. Sign-up for the tryouts begin at 5:30 PM on August 30th. There is no cost to tryout. We strongly encourage all swimmers to attend both days of the tryouts. The minimum requirement to try out for the swim club is to be able to swim one length of freestyle and one length of backstroke without stopping. We will be holding a parents meeting on August 30th at 6:30 PM during the tryouts. Swimmers will be notified via email and our web site within 48 hours of the completion of the tryouts whether or not they made the team. If you have any questions about the tryouts, please feel free to email Coach Todd Capen. All swimmers are also welcome to attend our stroke clinic.
Academy Bullets @ Lewis - We will be holding tryouts for new swimmers on August 31st at Lewis University from 6:00-6:30 PM. Sign-up for the tryouts begin at 5:30 PM on August 31st at the pool. Swimmers Making The Team - First you need to send a confirmation email to Coach Kelly Capen at kellswim@aol.com to inform us that you do plan on swimming for the Bullets. The next step will be going through our Online Registration process. Once you receive your email stating that your have made our swim club, you will click on the "Online Registration" button on the left side of our page. The online registration is a step by step process and if you have any issues we would be more than happy to walk you through it. Be sure you sign up for the correct group and location. Swimmers must be registered by Thursday, September 8th to guarantee your spot on the team. After September 8th, we will be filling spots from our waiting list. If you have made our team and decided not to swim this season, please email Coach Todd Capen at todd.capen@gmail.com and let us know that as well.
Swimmers Not Making The Team
- For those swimmers who have not made our team, we do have some options for you. First, we have placed you on our team waiting list and we will contact you if a spot becomes available. Swimmers on the waiting list will be notified by September 12th if there is an opening. Second, we offer a strong variety of swim lessons through our Swim With Bill program. You can see the program overview by visiting our lessons web site at www.swimwithbill.com. Within our lessons, we offer a program called "Take Your Mark". This is a competitive lessons program that serves as a pre-swim team. It is a great way to get a feel for a swim team and improve your conditioning at the same time.
