Never allow children into the water without adult supervision

Be sure the aquatic area is well supervised by lifeguards before you or a child your enter the water

Read all posted safety signs
Follow the rules and directions given by lifeguards
If you are unsure about something ask a uniformed worker
- If outside be sure to apply enough sun screen hourly and stay hydrated
- Do not consume large amounts of food before or during swimming. Wait at least 30 minutes to and hour after food has be consumed to go swimming
Pay attention to depth signs; the water depth will be different in different areas of the pool and attractions
- Do not rely on floatation devices such as water wings for a child's safety

Wait for a lifeguard to give you the O.K. to start down a water slide. Always slide down face up and feet first.
- Lifeguards are often watching dozen of swimmers at once, so be aware of where your child is at all times
- Even if your child knows how to swim, never let them swim alone

If you or your child cannot swim wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket. Some facilities provide life jackets at no charge
- Make sure children are seated away from the water during adult swim
- Have your child learn to S.W.I.M
- Stay with an adult
- Wave and yell for help
- I will learn to swim
- Make sure to read the safety signs
